About Islam

Parramatta Mosque

Islam is the religion centered around the monotheism belief that There is Only One God worthy to be worshipped.

Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala – The Most Glorified)

There are 6 Islamic articles of the belief that Muslims put their faith and trust into, these consist of believing in:

  1. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala)
  2. His Angels
  3. His Books
  4. His Prophets
  5. Judgment Day (life after death)
  6. Qadar (the divine decree and the predestination) is from Allah
(Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala – The Most Glorified)
The foundations of Islam are based on the practice of the five pillars. The five pillars consist of:

1. Shahada: The belief that there is Only One God worthy to be worshipped – Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and the acceptance that Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the last Messenger of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala).

2. Salah (Prayers): Muslims are required to pray daily, this being five times a day.

3. As-Sawm (Fasting): This is also known as Ramadan. This is the month in which Muslims keep a 30 day fast from dawn to sunset.

4. Zakat (Obligatory Charity): Zakat relates to giving a proportion of one’s wealth to charity.

5. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah): This is a pilgrimage to the Holy Kaaba (The House of Allah) situated in the sacred city Mecca in Saudi Arabia. At the minimum, Hajj should be carried out at least one time in a persons’ life, if he/she has both physical and financial capacity.

  • I appreciate the daily talks given by the Sheikh of Parramatta Mosque. Especially after ever Dhuhr prayers the Sheikh discusses different topics every day and these relate directly to our society, generation and daily experiences. They are excellent reminders, which are very simple and meaningful. Keep it up Parramatta Mosque!

  • Being situated within close proximity of Westfields, I find that I am blessed to have Parramatta Mosque nearby. The Sheikh offers congregational prayers with a short talk after each Salah, this is very informative. The Committee Members’ are friendly and helpful at all times! Further, the facilities provided for wudu (ablution) are great as the bathroom is well maintained! JazzaKullah Khayr for the Parramatta Mosque Committee Members for your regular support! You all do one awesome job at maintaining the Masjid! May Allah SWT reward you all immensely.

  • The best part of Parramatta Mosque is that the sisters’ have a separate area to pray their five daily prayers. Even during Jummah (Friday) prayers, there is still space provided for the sisters to attend any of the three Khutbah sessions and to pray in congregation! They also have separate ablution area for the sisters! Highly private and well maintained! Alhamdulillah for this beautiful Mosque. Thank you kindly Parramatta Mosque

  • It not always that you can find a Mosque that is conveniently located 5mins away from the Westfield. Parramatta Mosque provides this convenience, for all! The Mosque is open throughout the 5 Prayers. I am very fortunate that Friday Khutbah and prayers are offered across 3 timings, so if I can’t make it to the first Khutbah, I make it to the second one for sure! What a great service offered by the Mosque. Well done and please continue your superb services!!
